What are the Chances of Tiger Sightings?
Tiger sightings in Sariska have significantly improved in recent years. As of May 2025, the reserve is home to over 45 wild tigers, and that number continues to grow steadily.
But Sariska’s journey hasn’t always been this hopeful.
In 2004, Sariska hit a heartbreaking low—not a single tiger was left in the park due to rampant poaching. What followed was a bold and groundbreaking move in wildlife conservation. In 2008, Sariska made history with the world’s first successful tiger relocation, when tigers were translocated from Ranthambore to re-establish the population here.
Since then, Sariska has proudly bounced back. With consistent protection and conservation efforts, the tiger population has now grown to over 45 tigers, marking a remarkable 22% annual increase since 2008. It stands as one of India’s greatest wildlife recovery stories.
If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger, your best bet is during the summer months (April to June). As temperatures rise, tigers tend to stay close to water bodies, making them easier to spot.
Today, the chances of a tiger sighting range from 60–70%, especially during early morning safaris when the forest is most active.
So yes—your odds are good, and the experience is absolutely worth it.
